Brief Summary

The Chronicles of Prydain is a children's fantasy series that draws heavily from (but is not a retelling of) Welsh mythology. The series tells the story of Taran, an Assistant Pig-Keeper, and his part in the struggle to prevent Arawn, the Lord of Death, from conquering the land of Prydain.

Prydain is roughly analogous to Wales in the Late Iron Age, except with magic - enchantresses, dwarves, norns, magic swords, armies of the undead, and the like. Also oracular pigs.
