Brief Summary

A hyperactive bucktoothed kid in a pink hat acquires a pair of shape-shifting magical goldfish who defend him from the local nasty babysitter, school bully, and Sadist Teacher, while frequently giving him lessons in Be Careful What You Wish For.
Fairly Oddparents is set in a fictionist town of Dimmsdale, hinted to be in Southen California.
The main character has a horrible life of being annoyed by his parents and abused by his babysitter. His life is deemed so bad, that Jorgen assigns Cosmo and Wanda to Timmy. According to Hartman, the idea was to have a Cinderella type story, with the lead character being male.
Timmy does in almost every epsiode to avoid the exposure of his Godparents.
Timmy must never let anyone else find out he has Fairy Godparents, or admit he has them, because according to Da Rules
a Godchild will lose their Fairies if they reveal the truth. Mr. Crocker, who holds the unpopular belief that magic is the cause of all of the odd things that go on. If a horrible, cruel and victorious babysitter wasn't bad enough, now Turner has the constant watch of his teacher, Mr. Crocker on his every move looking for an opportunity to expose his - FAIRY GODPARENTS!

Not to mention the school bully and trying to get the most popular girl in school to even look at you. What's a kid to do?
